Steira is an Ovada Docg variety, exclusively obtained from dolcetto grapes hand-picked in Rocco vineyard planted in 1970's, with 4 tons per ha average yield.
Spontaneous fermentation accours whid wild yeast in old oak casks with extended maceration. It spends 20 months at least in old borgognone barriques.
Bottles produced are only 900.
In the local dialect of 19th century, Steira means “star”.
Best served around 18°C, let it breathe before drink.
Store in cool and dark place keeping the bottle lying down.
Ageing potential for over 20 years.
